Evonik’s Coatings & Additives business unit is at home in the world of the coatings, the printing inks, and the adhesive and sealing compounds industries. The lubricants, pharmaceutical, and plastics processing industries also represent important market segments.

The Coatings & Additives business unit has 21 production sites worldwide, as well as a global laboratory network. In fiscal 2009, it generated sales revenues of more than €1.3 billion.

Pharma Polymers

The basis of our offerings are our Poly(meth)acrylates for pharmaceutical applications, which are known worldwide in the industry under the trade name EUDRAGIT^®. The flexibility to combine the different polymers enables you to achieve the desired drug release profile by releasing the drug at the right place and at light time. Other important functions are protection from external influences (moisture) or taste/odor masking to increase patient compliance.
The range of our product portfolio provides full flexibility for your targeted drug release profiles by offering best performance for enteric, protective ort stained-release properties. We offer complete line of EUDRAGIT^® products and related services along the value chain of our customers.

Lubricant Additives

RohMax Oil Additives Lubricant Additives is a leading global supplier of high performance VISCOPLX^® lubricant additives and VISCOBASE^® synthetic base fluids for use in automotive and industrial lubricants. The globally operating business line also produces dewaxing aids used in refinery processing and cold flow improvers for biodiesel.

Their broad line of viscosity index improvers (VIIs) and pour point depressants (PPDs), derived from proprietary polyalkyl methacrylate (PAMA) technology, helps formulators achieve fuel efficiency targets and cold flow optimization.
Their cold flow improvers (CFIs) alter the problematic cold flow properties of biodiesel and their dewaxing aids boost process efficiency through optimized solvent dewaxing. State-of-the-art technology centers, worldwide manufacturing facilities in Germany, France, USA, Canada and Singapore as well as a global supply chain provide their customers with tailor-made products and market-edge solutions.
